John 1:4, In the beginning was the Word...



Here is a sample text from the New Testament in Syriac Aramaic with transliteration, translation and vocabulary. I used the Peshitta version of the Gospel of John, chapter 1, verses 1-5 as a source


1. ܒܪܫܝܬ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܘܗܘ ܡܠܬܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗ̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̈ ܗ݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈݈ ܠܗ ܘܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬܘܗ ͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏ ــــــــــــــــــــــــ ۔ bršyt ītwhī hwā mlṯā whw mlṯā ītwhī h-wā l-h w-ʾlhā ītwhī h-wā

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and God was the Word.

bršyt - beginning, origin ītwhī - was, existed hwā - he, it mlṯā - word, speech, utterance whw - and he, and it l-h - with him, with it w-ʾlhā - and God h-wā - he was
